“Sh’ma Yisra’eil Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad.” (SHEMA – song)
means “Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” (SHEMA)

There’s a cry going out… not a cry of tears, or sadness, but a war cry – a declaration that Jehovah Nissi (The Lord is my banner) is spread over His children. A banner that speaks of unity, identification, and togetherness – a rallying point for troops in a spiritual battle. A symbol of hope – if you have lost your way through the battles you are fighting, then you search for your banner and know that your fellow people are fighting with you and He is fighting for you.

Under His banner, we felt the call to cry out for Christchurch… Christ’s Church – like so many others.

For Christchurch to start looking like the body of Christ – just like our city’s name.

“I get to church an hour and a half early for Sunday morning services just to prepare the atmosphere for God’s presence with prayer and worship. God let me know that this needed to be done at a bigger scale. We’ve been talking about revival coming to Christchurch for so long but we still aren’t ready. God showed me an image of all the believers in Christchurch praying for revival at the same time, that becoming a nationwide movement, and eventually catching on fire to become a global movement. But it is important that it starts here in Christchurch. This is his church and we need to start looking like the body of Christ.” – Patricia (City Church)

“As part of Christchurch’s immigrant population, I have been struggling with the apparent disconnection between churches in New Zealand for 5 years. In Aug 2023, while worshipping in church, God floored me with a picture of all the Christians in Christchurch lining the 4 Avenues, proclaiming the Name of Jesus over our city and reclaiming the city that bears Christ’s Name!  While I was trying to figure out how to get in contact with all the churches in Christchurch to share my vision, an email from a lady at City Church landed in my inbox – a city-wide invitation to join a Prayer Event to reclaim Christchurch. “
